Cisco asked gyro to build a new website for its CiscoLive conference in San Diego. The new website was to be built for the three phases of the event. Pre-event, as a place to register and learn more. During the conference, as a daily calendar reference, providing times and locations for all talks and workshops. Post-event, to thank attendees and give them a sneak peek of next years conference.
Using last year’s website as a template, we were able to quickly put together an updated site architecture and collaborate with the client to make changes where needed. Our final designs became a direct reflection of this basic information.
Using simple personas proved invaluable to creating efficient user flows. Knowing we would have returning conference attendees who would expect more of the same and new potential attendees led to a discussion on what flows to maintain and how we can streamline for all users.

The updated site architecture was used to build a new set of wireframes. With this conference occurring every year, it would need a fresh look. This year would feature a modular design with an increased focus on user experience and mobile design.
During the event, Cisco wanted the website to be used by attendees as a pocket guide. Their go-to reference for keynotes and events. Making it easy to stay up to date and on time. The mobile user experience needed to reflect this desire and be as easy to use and navigate as possible.
